I have heard that some of the cosmetic female procedures are identical to other medically necessary procedures. Which ones are those and are they covered by health plans and insurances? L.P.
Removal of the excessive skin and repair of the underlying herniation (prolapse) of the bladder or the rectum is quite similar to vaginal rejuvenation. This treatment is usually covered by most health plans if the drop or prolapse of vaginal walls is symptomatic. History and physical of the patient and a review of symptoms is very important to properly diagnose and treat the problem.
